SIV & Investor Visa Update: Jan 2022

Happy New Year!

We hope that everybody enjoyed the festive season and wish you all the best for a safe and prosperous 2022.

Gong Xi Fa Chai

On February 1, 2022, the Asian community will celebrate the Lunar New Year, 4720 on Chinese calendars, which is Year of the Tiger.

The tiger is the third animal of the Chinese Zodiac. People born in the Year of the Tiger are said to be ambitious and courageous, with a sense of justice and a commitment to help others for the greater good.

While we will be enjoying the traditional CNY rituals and activities such as cleaning the house, going shopping, enjoying the family reunion dinner, and giving the kids their ang pao, we will still be open for business.

We will be available over the CNY season so please do not hesitate to contact us if you have a case you wish to discuss, or a client you would like to introduce.

Western Australia
Thank you all for the positive feedback regarding last month’s newsletter. In particular all the agents who contacted us and introduced the clients looking for Western Australian nominations.

New South Wales
Most of you will already know that to qualify for NSW nomination, you must show that your complying investments will contribute to the NSW economy. It is important to get this right from the time of application as NSW will refuse your clients nomination application for a permanent visa (subclass 888) if they cannot show that their complying investments have meet NSW’s specific criteria. It is important that your clients seek professional advice from an ASIC Registered Financial Adviser before applying for an NSW nomination. We would be more than happy to assist.
Choosing to apply for an SIV or an IV and choosing which state to be nominated by used to be just a lifestyle choice. With all the new state / territory specific criteria and restrictive investment conditions being imposed choosing who to be nominated by has become vitally important albeit complicated choice. Please contact us at [email protected] and help your clients make an informed decision.

We hope that the current Omicron wave represents the beginning of the end of the COVID pandemic. Despite the daily new highs in Australia’s Omicron case count, the Omicron variant is being only a modest drag on the Australian economy. Australia is well positioned for above average economic growth in 2022, boosted by high vaccination rates, high levels of personal savings, a strong labour market and healthy corporate balance sheets.

With analysts predicting that Omicron’s impact should be short and moderate, Australia is an attractive place to invest.

We continue to enjoy a lot of success by having an email introduction made as early as possible. Best practice continues to be, an early email introduction, followed by, initial consultations, and follow up meetings conducted efficiently via Zoom or WhatsApp conferencing.

We look forward to working with you this year and to helping your clients obtain their Australian Investor Visa (IV) or Significant Investor Visa (SIV) and also have a great Australian Investment experience.
