The Australian dollar has been weakening in 2023 and sits at US64 cents in September 2023, with some economists predicting it could drop below US60 before we enter 2024.

Ord Minnett’s David Lane, Senior Private Wealth Adviser, spoke to Forbes about how the price of the dollar can impact your investments and what you should be considering for your portfolio as a result.

“It’s important to consider the movement of the dollar but it’s only one component to investing. It’s more important to look at the strengths and weaknesses of the underlying investment and make a decision on that first,” Lane said.
