Ord Minnett partnership gives firm something to Crow about

Ord Minnett (Ords) has partnered with the Adelaide Football Club for the next two seasons,in a move that will see the firm sponsor the Club’s Chairman’s Event on home game days.

The move will see Ords become an Official Partner of the Crows, which will help the wealth management company strengthen local roots within the business and sport sectors.

Karl Morris, CEO and Managing Director at Ord Minnett, said choosing to partner with the Crows was an easy decision, particularly given Senior Coach Matthew Nicks worked at Ords for more than five years.

“We’re delighted to enter our first AFL sponsorship with the Crows, not only because many of us are fans of the Club but you can’t ask for a stronger link when a former employee becomes Senior Coach,” Mr Morris said.

‍

“We welcomed Matthew to Ords as an adviser after he retired from playing at the Swans, and we were of course sad to lose him but fully supported his decision to move into coaching. It’s a credit to him given he’s now in the top job at Adelaide, particularly within such a short period of time.

“Being part of the Chairman’s Event is a well-aligned fit for our Private Wealth clients and we’re genuinely looking forward to hosting matches at the Adelaide Oval and cheering on the Crows, ”he said. Matthew Nicks, Senior Coach at the Adelaide Crows and former Ord Minnett employee said it is great to have an organisation with such a proud heritage partner with the Club.

“ I was excited to see Ord Minnett has come on board with us as a partner. While I’ve spent the majority of my life playing and working in footy, I also worked in the finance sector for more than five years at Ords, so it’s a pleasure to link up with them again and have their support for the season ahead,” Nicks said.

Mr Morris will be at home in the Chairman’s Event, given he is also the Chairman of the NRL’s Brisbane Broncos. The sponsorship will provide Ord Minnett with naming rights for the Chairman’s Event on game days, in addition to hosting guests and speaking opportunities throughout the season.

Ord Minnett is also the Major Partner of Water Polo Australia, where it has the naming rights of both the Olympic-bound women’s and men’s national teams, the Ord Minnett Aussie Stingers and Ord Minnett Aussie Sharks.
